RAS-spectra of InP in MOVPE [Zorn96]
The (2x4) is the best investigated surfaces structure on InP (001), simply because it is the only one, which can be prepared by ion bombardement and annealing (iba). Some authors mention a (4x2)-reconstruction, but it is unclear, if this is simply the result of an other naming convention (as it is the case in [Sung94]).
The indium coverage is probably 0.75 monolayer [Gruzza91].
The only structure Modell published for this surfaces [Sung94] from TOF-SARS can not explain recently recorded STM-images [Esser96]. Although the Modell is shown below:
